Youth Worker

We wish to appoint a Youth Worker to succeed the current incumbent, who is moving out of the area.

This is a full time post with a salary of £28k (plus pension contributions). The key purpose is to lead and develop the CYP, continuing to engage disadvantaged youth of The Nightingales Estate, promoting their personal and social development.

Reporting to the Chair of Trustees, the Youth Worker’s primary focus is on Youth Work, with management and administration responsibilities. The CYP has one full time and two part time staff, as well as a network of volunteers.

A high degree of independence is available to a qualified and experienced professional. They will have to devise and carry forward strategies which will support the CYP’s overall objectives, building on the considerable achievements to date.

Formal qualifications required include a JNC-recognised degree level qualification in Youth Work and at least three years’ experience of working with young people in informal youth work. In addition, we require at least one year’s staff and team leadership and management experience in the youth sector.
