Our first few months at Greenham

Starting in June 2009 Andy Griffiths worked with us for 3 months and achieved a great deal in such a short period of time.
Holiday Activities
Andy secured funding and worked with volunteers to deliver an impressive programme of activities 5 days a week at both Pigeons Farm and Nightingales estates. Activities were chosen by young people and included :
Professional coaching in Football, Basketball and Rugby
Graffitti Art workshops, Go Karting at Thruxton, Wembley Stadium Tour
Visit to New Forest Water Park, bringing a climbing tower to Greenham and a range of adventurous activities.
Plans for a successful Youth Club
The existing Youth Club at Greenham is poorly resourced and poorly attended. A group of young people agreed to meet with Andy to draw up a list of equipment and resources that they want to see in the new youth club. That list has been used as the basis of two successful funding applications.
Plans for a Youth Council
Funding has been secured to hold a residential trip at an outdoor activity centre. The aim is to establish a youth council for Greenham. The plan for the weekend will include workshops using training material from British Youth Council and adventourous activities to promote team skills.
A sad departure
Andy very reluctantly resigned for personal reasons in September and is returning to be near his family in Wales.
An exciting opportunity
Whoever is appointed as the new Youth and Community Worker will benefit from enormous good will from local young people, a a generous budget to kit out a new youth club and the support of all local agencies working in partnership towards a 'Greater Greenham' initiative
